Certified Loose Pink Diamonds

Loose pink diamonds occupy the rarest corner of the coloured diamonds market. The natural supply has always been limited, and the closure of the major Western Australian pink diamond mine in the East Kimberley in November 2020 has narrowed the available stock to whatever was already cut, certified or held in dealer inventory at that point. What we offer in our online stock and at our Mt Hawthorn studio is drawn from that finite remaining pool.

Each loose pink diamond in our collection is independently certified for colour, clarity and authenticity, with most stones GIA graded before they reach us. They suit bespoke engagement rings, pendant and earring commissions, paired settings alongside white diamonds or sapphires, and standalone purchases for collectors and investors. Pink diamond commissions have run through our Perth studio for almost two decades, including work for private collectors who hold pink material as part of long-term luxury portfolios.

Why Buy A Pink Diamond Now

The market for Australian pink diamonds has shifted noticeably since the mine’s closure. Prices have lifted across each grade year on year, and the strongest stones (Fancy Intense, Fancy Vivid, Fancy Deep) are increasingly tightly held by collectors and SMSF investors rather than offered openly for sale. For buyers who want a pink diamond present in their jewellery, deal terms today are typically more favourable than they will be in twelve months’ time, and stones with strong certification and clean provenance continue to attract premiums in the secondary market.

For couples planning a pink diamond engagement ring or anniversary piece, the smaller carat-weight loose stones (0.05 to 0.25 carats) still offer entry points where the rarity is real but the total commitment remains manageable.

Grading And What To Look For

Pink diamonds are graded on a separate scale from colourless diamonds. The Gemological Institute of America evaluates hue, tone and saturation rather than the standard D-Z scale. Intensity grades run through Fancy Light Pink, Fancy Pink, Fancy Intense Pink, Fancy Vivid Pink and Fancy Deep Pink, with secondary modifiers (Purplish Pink, Pink Rose, Brownish Pink) recorded alongside the primary grade. Rare modifier categories including Pink Rose and Blue Violet carry their own collector pricing.

Colour intensity drives most of the value. A Fancy Vivid Pink commands a substantial premium over a Fancy Pink of identical size, clarity and modifier. We walk through each certificate in person at the studio so the details of hue, saturation and clarity are understood in context. Our team can also speak you through how the colour reads under different lighting before any commitment is made.

Our Current Loose Pink Stock

The pink diamond inventory we hold spans round brilliant, oval, cushion, radiant and pear shape cuts, in carat weights from 0.05 ct through 0.50 ct and occasionally higher on request. Stock changes frequently as stones are sold and replaced, so the online listing reflects what is in the studio at the moment you click through. For specific carat weights, shapes or colour grades not currently in stock, our team can source through our specialist Australian and international supplier network. Lead times for sourced stones typically run two to six weeks depending on the brief.

Custom Pieces Built Around A Loose Stone

Almost every loose pink diamond we sell is set into a bespoke piece designed around the stone rather than dropped into a stock setting. The design conversation usually pairs the pink centre stone with white diamond accents, white gold or platinum settings for cool contrast, or rose gold for tonal harmony. Halo settings remain the most popular format because the contrast with white diamond accents intensifies the perceived pink saturation. Three stone designs flanking the pink with white round brilliants or tapered baguettes also suit the colour beautifully.

We are happy to design and quote a complete custom piece at the time of the loose diamond purchase, with both stone and setting included in a single transaction.

Availability Disclaimer

Because of the rarity of natural pink diamonds, particularly those drawn from the now-closed Western Australian source in the East Kimberley region, availability is strictly limited and changes daily. All loose pink diamonds listed online are subject to prior sale, and specific stones may no longer be available at the time of your enquiry. We strongly recommend a visit to the showroom for the most current selection, or contacting our team to confirm stock against your shortlist before any purchase.
